a slow, concentrated, therapeutic style of yoga developed by Brazilian teacher Francisco Kaiut, drawing on the lineage of B.K.S. Iyengar. Rather than flowing through many poses, it uses a small number of poses held for long periods (often several minutes each), with props for support. This approach targets the joints to build strength and mobility, helps regulate the nervous system and calm the body, and supports circulation throughout the body. It's often recommended for people dealing with chronic pain, stiffness, or injury, as well as those looking for an adaptable, functional practice.

often called "yogic sleep," is a guided meditation practice done lying down in a relaxed, still position. You are guided through stages of awareness - body scanning, breath awareness, and visualization - leading you into a deeply relaxed state that sits between waking and sleeping. Unlike physical yoga styles, there's no movement involved. It's widely used to reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep, and promote deep physical and mental rest. Colleen incorporates visualization practices of IFS Inner Parts work, nature visualization, or Metta (loving-kindness) into these sessions.
-
a 1:1 guided meditation practice, designed to help you explore and integrate your "shadow self" — the parts of your personality (often rooted in past wounds, suppressed emotions, or traits you've disowned) that you tend to hide, deny, or avoid, a concept rooted in Carl Jung's psychology. Through guided prompts, visualization, and reflective questions, it helps you gently bring these hidden aspects into conscious awareness rather than acting them out unconsciously. The goal is greater self-understanding, emotional healing, and self-compassion, rather than physical relaxation alone.
-
a 30 minute tarot reading focused on the present — the energies, themes, and influences currently at play in your life, rather than predicting the future. The reader draws and interprets cards to reflect what's happening beneath the surface right now, offering insight and clarity on your current emotional, mental, or spiritual state so you can move through the present moment with more awareness and intention.

(also called a natal chart reading) is an hour-long session exploring the personalized snapshot of the sky at the exact date, time, and location of your birth. We map where the sun, moon, and planets were positioned at that moment, revealing insights into your personality, strengths, emotional patterns, relationships, and life path. Unlike a simple sun-sign horoscope, a birth chart reading offers a much deeper, individualized picture by taking your unique moon sign, rising sign, and planetary placements into account.
*must submit place, date, and exact time of birth for this session
-
a guided, collaborative session where you work with a practitioner to design a personal ritual tailored to your intentions, needs, or life transitions — drawing on elements like intention-setting, energy, movement, breathwork, affirmations, esoteric knowledge, journaling, or symbolic images. Rather than following a fixed format, the session helps you create a repeatable practice you can return to on your own, giving you a personalized tool for grounding, clearing, and protection.

The term originated, to my knowledge, from the work of meditation teacher Deborah Eden Tull. It indicates a willingness to begin an open and courageous investigation of your own perceptions, sensations, awareness, and patterns. Zen Detective Agency teaches tools and practices to help in this investigation and create the space to choose a response rather than react unconsciously or from habits of the past.
